The commissioning process can take place in two ways, either as commissioned compositions or
simply as commissioned tiles. Commissioned compositions are ceramic artworks designed by
Lubna Chowdhary in consultation with the client. They will be composed of a numerous ceramic
tiles of various sizes and designs and colours which all interlock to form a strong coherent image.
Commissioned tiles are those selected by the client from the sample range or alternativley they
could be tiles made to the clients own design. As these are bespoke services, the size, colour
and surface designs of the tiles can be enormously flexible and most specifications can be met.
Each commission is carefully considered in response to the space in which it will be installed.
A studio consultation by appointment is provided for the client. Here, the full range of tiles and
images of past commissions can be veiwed.
The commission evolves through discussion of the clients needs. Composition details, dimensions
and colour palette are agreed. The client's budget, timescale and installation and finishing methods
are also taken into consideration.
With commissioned compositions, tile samples, drawings, digital images of work in progress and fixing
plans for tiling contractors can be provided. If required, compositions can be fixed and finished onto
wooden panels in the studio, to provide simpler installation on site.
For overseas clients, an online service is available and delivery is available with a reputable carrier.
Commission prices start from £1500 per square metre.
Past commissions include pieces for Terence Conran's Alacazar restaurant in Paris, Itsu Sushi restaurant
in London, Coggan Crawford Architects, New York and numerous private commissions.
